On behalf of all your colleagues and friends who long shared a place on the Committee for Medieval Studies with you at the University of British Columbia for more than twenty years and came to appreciate your skills as organizer, inventor, creator, teacher, yes and even as a smoker, warm wishes on reaching four score years.
